When you make bread, just save a little bit of the
dough to make scones. Two foods with one recipe, it doesn't get easier
than that.
Ingredients:S
bread dough
frying oil (vegetable oil, or shortening)
Directions:
Roll the dough out with a rolling pin. The thinner
it is, the better they will turn out. Slice the dough with a butter
knife to the desired shape/size.
Heat the oil in a pan on medium-high heat.
| Tip:
I like to use a pan with tall
sides so that the grease doesn't splatter. |
When the grease is hot, place scones in
the pan one at a time. Brown on one side, turn over, then brown on the
other side (you're aiming for a light golden brown).
Remove from grease and place on paper towel on top of a plate to cool
and drain.
