Easy Marinara Sauce Recipe
The first time that I made Chicken
Parmesan,
the recipe said to use your "favorite marinara sauce recipe". I didn't
have one. So, I went to the kitchen and invented one with the things
that I had lying around. It turned out to be very tasty!
This sauce is great for dipping, or to top chicken.

Ingredients:
3 small tomatoes, diced
1 (6 oz) can tomato sauce
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
pepper to taste
sprinkle of Parsley Flakes
Generous sprinkle of Italian Seasoning
Tip:
When I don't have fresh
tomatoes, I substitute 1 (12 oz) can of diced tomatoes for the fresh
tomatoes. You may also substitute the fresh garlic with a 1/4 teaspoon of garlic
powder if you need to. |
Directions:
Combine all of the ingredients in a sauce pan. Put on stove on med-hi and bring to a
boil. Turn to low and simmer for 15 min.
| Tip:
If the tomato skins bother
you, you can remove them. The easiest
way to do this is to blanch the tomatoes. Using a large ladle or spoon, simply, drop them into a pan
of boiling water, let them sit for 30-60 seconds, and then drop the
tomatoes into cold water. This will cook just the skin of the tomato
and allow it to slip off easily. |
