Ingredients:
French bread
pizza sauce (look
at my main pizza page under the sauce heading)
toppings
cheese
spices (Italian seasoning, parsley, oregano, etc.)
| Tip:
Use the same toppings as your
favorite pizza. Maybe a Hawaiian
(my favorite) with Canadian bacon, pineapple, and extra cheese. Perhaps
you would like a veggie pizza, or a meat lover's. Get creative; I
imagine you already know what you like on your pizza. |
Directions:
Cut the French bread. Some people like to do it
lengthwise and others slice it to make mini pizzas.
| Tip:
If you cut the bread
lengthwise and don't like super thick
crust, simply remove some of the bread in the middle. Or, you can cut
the bread lengthwise into 3 pieces instead of 2 (this takes a little
more skill and caution). |
If you like your crust crisp and don't want it to
get soggy at all,
toast it in the oven on a cookie sheet. Use high heat (about 400°, or
use broil which only cooks the top). Watch closely, especially if you
use broil so you don't burn it.
Now, spread your sauce onto the
bread. Top with your favorite toppings and cover in cheese. Sprinkle
the top with spices if desired.
Cook in oven on high heat (about
400°, or use broil which only cooks the top). Pizza is done when cheese
is melted and barely starting to brown and bread is crispy.
Enjoy!
