Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
So what is the perfect easy chocolate chip cookie recipe? I
guess it all depends on your tastes. I'm including this recipe because
it's my wife's favorite.
We actually found this recipe on the back of a package of
Nestle chocolate chips while we were looking for another great and easy
chocolate chip cookie recipe to mix things up.

Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip
Cookies

Ingredients:
Original
Version
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (12 ounce) Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1 cup chopped nuts (optional) |
Light
Version 3 1/4 cups whole-wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup applesauce
2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs 1 1/2 cups Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

| Tip:
Be sure to use high quality butter or
margarine. Lower grade products such as vegetable oil spreads will
greatly alter the texture of the cookies. If you want a lower fat
version, try the light version here instead of using the low-fat butter
substitutes. |
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375° F.
Combine the dry ingredients in a small
bowl. Beat the butter, sugars, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl until
creamy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually beat into the flour mixture. Stir in the morsels and nuts.
Drop by a rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets.
| Tip:
To make the original cookie recipe easier to work with, put the cookie dough in
the refrigerator before putting them onto the cookie sheets. |
Bake for 9 - 11 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets
for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
* May be stored in refrigerator for up to 1 week or in freezer for up
to 8 weeks.

Variations:To make bar cookies, spread cookie dough on a greased 15 x 10 cookie sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
