Amazing, Yet Easy Chicken Recipes

If you're like me, you could always use more easy chicken recipes. Chicken is a very versatile food. It can be a main dish, or a side dish; a soup, or a salad; health food, or junk food. It all depends on how you prepare it. That's where these easy chicken recipes come in to play.

Chicken has a very mild flavor. That might sound like a bad thing, but it's not. In fact, that is what makes chicken so great. Add a few different spices, or a different sauce and the taste will completely change for you.



Chicken Quality

Now, don't get caught in the mindset that chicken is chicken. There are definitely different cuts and quality. A 99% fat free boneless skinless chicken breast doesn't equate to a drumstick with the skin on. Remember that when you buy chicken by the pound, you are paying for the bones, the skin, and the fat also. If I have the choice between meat with fat, bone, and skin for $1.00/lb and all meat for $2.00/lb, I'll pay $2.00/lb for all meat. It will end up costing me about the same for the meat, but I get a higher quality of meat (and I don't have to remove the bones, fat, and skin myself).

Beyond the obvious, there are also taste differences between different brands of chicken. I personally buy Tyson chicken from Sam's club for the same price as lesser grade meat from the normal super market. That gives me the best value for my money and the best quality of meat. Try a few of your local brands and see if you can taste a difference. I bet you can!

Classic Easy Chicken Recipes

Coconut Chicken: This coconut chicken, inspired by the coconut shrimp served at the Outback Steakhouse will be sure to please your family and guests.

• Chicken Noodle Soup: This home style chicken noodle soup features large chucks of chicken and veggies. It will blow Campbell's out of the water.

BBQ Chicken: Try either the oven style BBQ chicken or the grilled BBQ chicken. Either one will impress you.

Chicken Fajitas: This classic Tex-Mex style recipe is a big hit. It's a great way to get your family to eat their veggies.

Chicken Pot Pie: The perfect blend of veggies, chicken, and gravy encased in a flaky crust.

Candied Chicken: This is Chinese style food at it's best. This recipe (similar to sweet and sour) will give Chinese restaurants a run for their money.

Honey Fried Chicken: A breaded chicken breast with a hint of Dijon mustard and a honey glaze to top it off.

Roast Chicken: See how easy it is to roast a whole chicken in your oven. Try different spice combinations to change up the flavor.

Chicken Alfredo: Creamy Alfredo sauce and grilled chicken strips on top of a bed of fettuccine noodles.

Chicken Salad Sandwich: Tasty chicken salad to top any bread or croissant to make the perfect sandwich.

Chicken Gravy: I love my Mom's country style chicken gravy. I know you will too! Or try the classic traditional style chicken gravy.

Baked Mushroom Chicken: Lightly breaded boneless skinless chicken breast topped with mozzarella, Parmesan, mushrooms, and green onions.

Easy Chicken Recipes for the Health Conscious

If you are health conscious, try buying boneless skinless chicken breasts. If the fat is not pre-trimmed, trim it off yourself before you prepare it.

Grilled Pineapple Chicken Salad: This is a very tasty meal featuring fresh veggies, grilled chicken, grilled pineapple and its own unique dressing. You never have to feel guilty about this meal! 

Grilled Chicken Breast: The possibilities are endless with a grilled chicken breast. Learn how to "grill" inside when the weather is bad outside.

Chicken Parmesan: This is my own version of the ever popular dish made by your local Italian restaurant. (Only mine isn't quite so fatty!)

Oven Fried Chicken: Get all the great taste of homemade fried chicken without all the guilt. This has been a family favorite for years!

Whole Wheat Chicken Wraps: A refreshing chicken salad with ranch dressing wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla.

Salsa Chicken: This super easy chicken recipe is a classic recipe that combines two of my favorite foods: salsa and chicken.

Orange Chicken Stir Fry: This light refreshing dish is a great way to add a few veggies to your diet.
