Easy Apple Crisp Recipe
This
easy apple crisp recipe has always been a family favorite. My older
brother, Darren, used to make batches of the "crisp" part. He would
then just eat it plain. Though it is good like that, I always preferred
it baked with apples, peaches, or rhubarb on bottom. Really, you can
use any type of fruit. Let's start with apple crisp, then I'll show you
how to slightly modify the recipe for other fruits.

Ingredients:
4 cups fresh sliced apples
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup butter
1 1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
Directions:
Put apples and water in the bottom of a 9" x 13" pan. Sprinkle with
cinnamon. mix flour and sugar in a bowl, then cut butter in to make a
crumbly mixture. Spread mixture over apples and bake at 350° for about
40 minutes or till golden and crispy on top.
| Tip:
The easiest way to cut butter into a dry mixture is
to use a pastry cutter. If you don't have one, use a fork. Simply mash
until you have a crumbly mixture. |
