Easy Corn Bread Recipes
Not only does cornbread taste great, it's healthy
for you
too! Well, at least until you add the honey butter it is. If
you
are looking for a healthy alternative to honey butter, try topping it
with your favorite beans (chili, baked beans, etc.) Of course, I
usually just eat the beans on the side and put honey butter on mine.

Corn Bread

This is one of those great old-fashioned corn
bread recipes. It
turns out perfect every time, your family will love it like mine does.
Ingredients:
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup whole-wheat flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 Tablespoon oil
3 Tablespoons applesauce
1 cup milk
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400° F.
Sift the dry ingredients together in a
mixing bowl. In another bowl beat the remaining ingredients and then
add it to the dry ingredients. Bake it in a greased 9"x 9” pan for 15-20 minutes.
| Tip:
Cornbread is done when you can insert a toothpick
and it comes out clean. I
usually like to make a double batch in a 9" x 13" pan, though, it does take a
few extra minutes. The toothpick method will help you produce the best
possible results. |
